Rachel Firgens is an associate in Chicago. Rachel’s work includes advising clients on the Historic Preservation Certification Application process and preparing state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credit applications for projects throughout the upper-Midwest.
Prior to joining MacRostie, Rachel was an Associate with Higgins Quasebarth and Partners, LLC, in New York. She counseled private and institutional clients on historic preservation review at the local and federal levels and assisted with numerous tax credit applications.
Rachel has a background in architectural and urban history, combining preservation and American Studies to more broadly examine the context of the American built environment. Rachel also worked in the MHA D.C. office and was a National Council for Preservation Education intern with the National Park Service. She served on the Landmarks Committee of the D.C. Preservation League and is currently a member of the Issues Committee and Skyline Council of Landmarks Illinois.
Rachel earned an MA in Historic Preservation from the George Washington University and a BA in German and International Studies and history from Macalester College.
