Rachel Barnhart is an associate in our Chicago office, where she researches and prepares preliminary determinations of National Register eligibility, National Register nominations, local landmark designation reports, and federal and state historic tax credit Part 1 applications for clients throughout the Midwest.
Rachel has experience working with the National Register program in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining MacRostie, Rachel was a historic preservation specialist with Rosin Preservation, LLC, in Kansas City, Missouri, where she assisted with the research and preparation of architectural surveys, eligibility determinations, and National Register nominations for a wide range of historic resources. Rachel also worked as a National Register and Survey Specialist for the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office where she reviewed a wide variety of projects for National Register eligibility and ensured that all submitted nominations met state and federal level criteria and standards.
Rachel earned an MHP in Historic Preservation and Architectural History and a BA in Public Relations from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Society of Architectural Historians.
