Richard SidebottomMacRostie Historic Advisors LLC welcomes Richard Sidebottom as an Associate in our Northeast office. Previously in private practice,  Richard provided historic preservation consulting services to clients on a wide range of preservation documentation and historic rehabilitation tax credit projects. His most recent projects include the Charleston Naval Hospital Historic District National Register nomination and the Federal historic tax credit application for Building NH55 within that district.

 

Prior to his work as an independent consultant, Richard served as Supervisor of Compliance for Tax Incentive and Outreach Programs in the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, where he reviewed home-owner tax credit projects for the South Carolina Historic Rehabilitation Incentive Program, federal and state grant projects, and compliance projects. In addition to his work in South Carolina, Richard has also participated in preservation projects in Virginia, England, and Jamaica.

 

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Classical Studies from Emory University and a Masters of Architectural History and Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia. He has served on the South Carolina State Review Board and has taught numerous graduate and undergraduate historic preservation courses at Clemson University, the College of Charleston, and the University of South Carolina.
