Local Landmark Designation Reports
Many municipalities administer landmark programs that recognize the significance of their own local properties and historic districts. The requirements and restrictions associated with these programs vary, and some municipalities also offer financial incentives for the rehabilitation of local landmark properties.
Local landmark designation should not be confused with listing on the National Register of Historic Places, which is a federal program jointly administered by State Historic Preservation Offices and the National Park Service.
