Fall 2007 Update: MacRostie Historic Advisors


New staff: MacRostie Historic Advisors (MHA) is pleased to welcome Elizabeth J. Breiseth as an Associate in our Washington, DC office where she will assist in the preparation of state and federal historic tax credit applications and National Register nominations for projects nationwide.

Prior to joining MHA, Elizabeth worked as an architectural historian at a historic preservation consulting firm in Washington, DC where she undertook surveys of historic properties and prepared local landmark and National Register nominations. Elizabeth holds a B.A. degree with joint honors in U.S. History and Religious Studies from McGill University in Montreal and a M.A. degree in Historic Preservation from George Washington University.

 

What We’re Working On:


From our Washington, DC office, MHA is servicing:

  • Rehabilitation of New Orleans’s Hurricane Katrina-damaged Fairmont Hotel
  • Conversion of McKinley Tower Apartments in Anchorage, Alaska to assisted living units
  • Reuse of the Hotel Dale in Coffeyville, Kansas for affordable apartments
  • Multiple projects combining historic, low income, and New Market Tax Credits


In Boston, MHA is consulting on:

  • Rehabilitation of the Albany Building for commercial office and retail uses
  • Conversion of the Ames Building into a 130-room hotel
  • Transformation of Foxborough State Hospital for residential and commercial uses


Our Chicago office is providing historic tax credit consulting services for:

  • Conversion of the 1915 Three Arts Club to a boutique hotel
  • Reuse of the former Sears, Roebuck and Co. power house as a magnet high school
  • Rehabilitation of historic military housing at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station


MHA staff are frequently called upon to share their expertise regarding state and federal rehabilitation tax credits, tax credit syndication, and compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Recent speaking engagements include:
